As something wicked this way comes with Macbeth in a couple of weeks, we are pleased to announce upcoming auditions happening shortly after!The Bradfordians bring you Blithe Spirit, Noel Coward’s supernatural comedy, this Autumn at St. Margaret’s Hall in Bradford on Avon.

The Play
Charles Condomine lives in the English countryside, with his wife Ruth and the latest in a long line of long-suffering maids, Edith. Charles, a famous novelist, is working on his next triumph: a story that delves into the shadowy world of the occult.
In the interest of research and a bit of a laugh, Ruth and Charles invite the nearby village’s self described clairvoyant and medium, Madame Arcati, to conduct a séance in their home, also inviting their friends Doctor and Mrs Bradman for an evening they all expect will be full of tacky parlour
tricks.
But as the evening’s events transpire, Madame Arcati slips into an eerily convincing trance and something far more is unleashed: Charles’ late first wife Elvira. And Elvira isn’t returning to the underworld until she sorts out some unfinished business!
The Parts (playing ages for guidance only)
CHARLES CONDOMINE (Mid 30s+)
An intelligent English novelist. Husband of Ruth Condomine and deceased first wife, Elvira.
RUTH CONDOMINE (Mid 30s+)
A smart looking woman. Ruth is the wife of Charles. She is a bit jealous of Charles’s relationship with his first wife, Elvira.
ELVIRA (Mid 20s+)
Charles Condomine’s deceased first wife, Elvira returns as a ghost with a goal. In the process, she makes Charles’s and Ruth’s lives very complicated.
MADAME ARCATI (Mid 40s+)
A middle-aged spiritualist, who leads the Condomine’s Séance at their dinner party.
EDITH (Early 20s)
The Condomine’s maid. Edith is always in a hurry.
DR. BRADMAN (Mid 30s+)
Friend of the Condomine’s, attending their dinner party.
MRS. BRADMAN (Mid 30s+)
The wife of Dr. Bradman. Also attends the Condomine’s dinner party.
The Production
Audition dates: 5th and 7th of July @ 19:30
Venue: Room TR1, Wiltshire Music Centre, Bradford on Avon
Initial read-through: Thursday, 14th of July @ 19:30
Rehearsals commence: Tuesday, 6th of September @ 19:30
Every Tuesday and Thursday @ 19:30
Venue: Nestle Room, Wiltshire Music Centre, Bradford on Avon
Production week: Week commencing 31st of October
Venue: St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon.
There will also be production crew roles required, if that is something you’re interested in rather than roles on-stage.
